Background
LG Electronics was established in 1958 as GoldStar. The company first produced TVs and radios and eventually began to produce home appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines. GoldStar produced its first washing machine in 1969.
In the early 2000s, LG introduced the Direct Drive motor, a motor directly attached to the drum, to replace their traditional belt-driven systems.
The most common problem LG washing machine owners experience today is when their LG washer gives a UE code.
Identification
- Front loader: The model number can be found when the door is open on the panel surrounding the drum. Popular models include the WM3050CW, WM3500C, WM4000H and WM4500H.
- Top loader: The model number can be found on the rear panel, under the lid, or on the left side of the washer. Popular models include the WT7300C, WT7800C and WT7900H.
