Step 21-22 is a lot more difficult than displayed here so be warned! Inside where they advise you to put the tweezer is right up against the connector and any movement of the tweezer in this position will no doubt damage the connector.

There isn't even a warning posted at these steps which is terrible for fixit!!! check the net for other videos on how to get this little box assembled apart - there are far better ways I discovered but too late for me :(

Don't know if anyone has tried this repair but apparently i saw on Alibaba that once the new screen is connected you need to wait for a software upgrade and once you do that the new digitizer will mate with the watch. Can someone maybe try this out?

There are two problems with these connectors. First off they're made of very thin plastic so break easily (something addressed in later Mac mini's). Second the socket melts to the connector making it impossible to lift it.

If you do break it the metal tabs of the socket should we easily resoldered. Some practice beforehand, a fine tip solder iron, some leaded solder and your away.

I think what he meant to say is the SSD shown (Samsun) is for a late 2013. The 2014 iMac uses a Sandisk unit (see the 5k teardown).
