Power briefly when plugged in, no charging.
Found an AGS-101 for a dollar at a tag sale, trying to get it working. Battery was swollen, replaced it, cleaned up the gunky case and buttons. Here’s where I’m at now:
- Battery won’t charge while in the system
- System won’t turn on when power switch is flipped
- When charging cable is inserted with power switch off, charge light illuminates briefly, whether or not battery is present
- When charging cable is inserted while power switch is on, system powers on long enough to display the Nintendo logo on the screen, then powers off, whether or not battery is present.
- When charging cable is inserted, I’m not reading any voltage on the battery pins
- I’m reading continuity across the F1 fuse
I’m not sure how to proceed here, as my board looks a little different from others I’ve seen pictured here. I think my F2 fuse is blown, but would that cause this behavior? The board is here, with what looks like the F2 fuse outlined. Am I looking in the right place?
Is dit een goede vraag?
Have you checked continuity directly downstream of the battery? That could a cause. If the power and charging cable power converge before doing stuff in the board, it sounds like there could a broken solder contact somewhere.
