So, who am I and why am I here? I consider myself just a regular Joe. I am old enough to know better but still believe in trying to save the world and humanity. One device at a time. I love to mentor and to help others, I am into repurposing and trying to repair anything.
I come from a time and a place where there was never enough money to just replace things or to just go and buy new stuff. Fixing things was not a passion but a necessity. 50 years of fixing, building and yes, breaking things as well, has taught me a lot. During my lifetime I've learned that the only thing that truly matters is how we get along with others; to never prematurely judge people. I do judge people by their actions and not by some preconceived notion. If you are being kind and compassionate toward our environment (people, planet, animal, etc.) you are okay in my book.
I have learned a lot and continue to study and learn new things daily. This enables me to provide some answer on this forum. It enables me to help someone that needs it and it helps to keep things going. All too often we discard stuff just because it is broken and we do not know how to fix it. This puts an incredible strain on our environment and it makes others rich. We all should support organizations like https://repair.org/stand-up/ to fight for our right to repair. It’ll keep our hard earned money in our pockets instead of further feeding the Profit-before-People (Planet) machinery.
“We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone, and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. “ (Charlie Chaplin in “The Great Dictator”) Totally awesome expression thereof shown here
Nine years on iFixit is a long time. After some debates with family and friends, I’ve made the decision to take a step back and to slow it down a bit but I will continue to support the efforts by everyone put forward on here.

Antwoord op "TV grainy after power cycle"Logan Wisdom number 1 cause for a grainy picture is the T-con board and after that the main board. The panel is always a possibility. So I suggest you start with the t-con board.
Antwoord op "I dropped my iPod 4 times and now the edges of the screen just flashes"@jaxonpartin going by your symptoms and by your statements that it was dropped, I would start with a new display. There is always a possibility that this is a bad (disconnected) ribbon cable or even the logic board but until you open it up and start looking there just is no way to tell. Start with the display.
Antwoord op "Accidentally plugged a 220 into a 110"Amy cook could be a (thermal)fuse as well as a couple of other things (filter capacitor, thermostat, etc. are a good possibility). Adding images to an existing question Not sure which model you have but this video should get you into it.

Antwoord op "My iPod classic won't turn on and wont charge (known good battery)"@karl67 the number one issue with this model iPod is the battery connector. It has a tendency of breaking of the logic board. Check that first. As for the IC that warms up post some pictures of the location etc., with your question. That way we can try and identify it. Remember that schematics etc. are not available. Adding images to an existing question

Antwoord op "I get sound but no picture"rhonda.maze shadow on a dark screen?. Shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen just to make sure we understand you correctly. If you see shadows, silhouettes it is your backlight that is not turning on. This is commonly caused by a bad power board or a bad backlight array. You would have to remove the back cover from your TV and take a look at the power board etc. Check for obvious damage like charred or missing components. Post some good pictures of your boards and interconnect cables so that we can help you further. You an check the LED output voltage with a multimeter and need to let us know what voltages you get. We will also need your TV’s complete model number so we can try to see if schematics etc. are available.
Antwoord op "Water wont fill in washer."Abifail howeel the usual issues with the WON’T FILL would be 1. Check water connections to machine. 2. Check for plugged screen in water source. 3. Log valve. See TEST #2, page 9. (attached Tech Sheet) 4. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 5. Check harness connections. Since your washer etc. goes through the whole program without stopping for errors etc., check the water level sensing components: TEST #6 Water Level and Pressure Transducer Calibration This test checks the water level sensing components, and calibrates the pressure sensor. 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Access the machine/motor control assembly. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies, page 14. 3. Check hose connection between the pressure transducer on the machine/motor control and the pressure dome attached to the tub. Check to ensure hose is routed correctly in the lower cabinet and not pinched or crimped by the back panel. 4. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 5. Drain the tub until all water has been removed from...
