not scanning to chromebook although settings indicate all is well

I actually have an xp-640 but it wasn't on the list. I set it up thru a desktop, but also want to use a chromebook with it. it prints fine from the chromebook, but despite all the settings looking correct it will not scan to the chromebook, only the desktop. have tried getting an answer from epson but still waiting! I can't get into epson connect because it says password is wrong but i never get the email from them to reset the pw. I am going around in circles!
