How to fix the display on my phone?
The display on my phone has faded colors.... like the brightness is on 100 but there are blurred lines throughout the screen.

Sounds like a bad LCD screen, is there any cracks or flaws on it besides the discoloration? Does the screen still fully function? You could replace it by ordering a new screen, here is a guide on how to replace that.

Is there a way to fix it without replacing the screen
If a black dot(s) appear on the screen, it is likely that the one or more pixels are dead. Dead pixels will always appear black against any color background. Some people have been able to repair dead pixels by applying pressure.
Locate the precise locations of the dead pixels, turn the screen off, and apply gentle but firm pressure with a narrow-tipped object. To avoid scratching the screen, cover the screen with a scratch-free cloth. Apply pressure about 10 times and then turn the screen back on. If the dead pixels do not light up after several attempts, you may need to replace the screen using the LG Tribute Touchscreen Replacement Guide.
I'm not sure if this is the same, but it might not hurt to try.
