PC Not Turning On

Your Dell Inspiron Laptop does not turn on after multiple presses of the power button.

Power Issues

While this may seem obvious, a laptop cannot turn on without any power. Try plugging the AC adapter into the Dell Inspiron and try turning it on. If this does not solve the problem, move on to the next solution.

Power Residual

First, disconnect the AC adapter from the laptop. Remove the battery, and press and hold the power button for approximately 15-20 seconds. This drains all the residual power from the laptop. After this, put the battery back in and plug in the AC adapter. Now, try turning on the laptop again. Here is a link to a helpful battery replacement guide: Dell Inspiron 13-7373 Battery Replacement

Frozen Screen

The screen for your Dell Inspiron Laptop is frozen and is unresponsive to any user Input.

Programs Running

There may be more programs running on your laptop than it can handle causing the screen to be unresponsive. In this case open the task manager to view the currently running programs. Right click on the program that is frozen and click End Task. This should free up memory for your computer so it can run smoothly.

Computer Virus

A frozen screen could be the result of a computer virus. In order to prevent this you should  install an antivirus software. Perform anti virus checks regularly to ensure your computers safety.

Blue Screen

Your Dell Inspiron Laptop has the blue screen of death and won’t work

Software Issues

Your software may be outdated. Try checking for any Windows updates in the settings menu, if there are apply those updates to your Laptop. If the blue screen occurs again, you may have hardware issues.

Hardware Issues

If you have recently installed a new piece of hardware, it could be a problem. The hardware may not have been installed correctly. Check if the hardware is installed correctly, if it is not, install it in the correct way to see if it fixed any issues.

Loud Fan

Your Dell Inspiron’s fan is louder than usual.

Clogged Air Vents

There may be some dust buildup on the vans or vents on your laptop. Turn off the laptop and begin checking the vents for any dust or other debris that may be getting in the way. Use a can of compressed air and blow into the vents to remove the dust or debris that are clogging up your Dell Inspiron. Overheating

Your Dell Inspiron runs very hot and turns off after a little while

Ventilation Issues

If you replace the fan and it is still loud, your Dell Inspiron could be overheating due to a lack of ventilation. Try to use your Dell Inspiron in a more open or cool space. When your laptop is in a hot environment, it attempts to draw out more warm air from it, which is impossible if there is only warm air surrounding it.

Viewing Media

Your Dell Inspiron may be overheating due to multiple videos or games being played on it. Try to turn these videos or games off, or reduce the amount you are running at one time.
