I need some help with trouble shooting, the unit use to be recognized in iTunes, screen lit up to the menu. Once I popped off the back using a dental tool to open a gap and then iPod opening tool and the thing that looks like a guitar pick. After getting the back off with little to no bends to the clips, I plugged it into the computer. I got a white flashing screen, and iTunes didn't recognized it. If I plugged it straight to a power source the screen stayed lit followed by two beeps. What on Earth did I do just getting the back off, or is this normal for battery failure ?
SUCCESS ! ! ! I had a lot of fun doing this project, thank you to all of the people's comments and tips. Shout out to iRobot for a splendid guide. This was a first time repair project for me, with minimal soldering skills. Truth be told, I bought a soldering station just for this project. 2/1/2025
I highly suggest using a sewing needle to remove any adhesive/glue from ALL of the screws before you try to remove them. And I also noticed that the set of phillips screwdrivers I used were not true to their size. I had a lot of fun doing this project
