My wife’s iPhone 5 went through the washer. After an extended period of drying in a slightly warm oven and recharging, the screen now flashes on and off with the Apple logo. However, it has not returned to further operation. Assuming the phone is beyond repair, might it nevertheless still be possible to disassemble it and somehow recover all of the photographs and contact information from the memory chip(s)? Her employer provided the phone, but did not set it up with an iCloud account, and she did not know about backing the contents up to iCloud or a computer. As a consequence, she is currently unable to access any of this information. Is it lost forever?
