Check the condition of the thermal pad under the SSD and replace it if damaged. It is 20 x 65 mm and 0.5 mm thick, and the Lenovo part number is 02DL836. If the pad remained intact but is stuck to the bottom of the old SSD, carefully transfer it to its spot on the board.
Even if you remove the pad, this laptop is not compatible with double-sided SSDs. Some of them may fit, but the ones we've tested do not.
Carefully put the new pad onto the board, making sure it goes into the white rectangle beneath the SSD.
