Torn ribbon on lcd…

Hypothetically, if while in the process of trying to repair their Fitbit sense (cause the screen fell off even on the bloody replacement!), someone managed to tear the ribbon on the new lcd screen, would there be any way for them to fix it?

Hypothetically, of course.

Boy-o-boy that would be pretty stupid of them to hypothetically do!

And I bet it would hypothetically look a little something like the attached photos…

Anyone with more brain cells than myself got an idea on how to reattach? I mean it wasn’t working when I first installed it anyhow so could be some motherboard issues which might make it better off a write off but maybe maybe?

I mean, hypothetically, of course.

Thanks for anyone who explores this fun thought experiment (and definitely nothing else) with me! \(^o^)/

Hey Jennerino, having hypothetically torn an Apple watch display cable myself, I can theoretically sympathize with you. Unfortunately I'm having to imagine your photos, as they don't seem to have come through on your question. Here's a little article showing you how to get them added.

Man, I’ll bet the kind of person to not realise they had to add the photos to the post and not just upload them would be the same kind of person to tear a LCD ribbon! (>_<)

Cheers mate, I’ve added the photos now

Glad I’m not the only hypothetical moron here! ^_−☆

Well, crapola, my friend. The pictures are nice and clear and show that this imaginary display is pretty much toast. I see no indication that any seller breaks those displays down any farther than you bought, which tells me that a torn cable is almost certainly a death sentence for that screen.

I don't know how much you paid for the screen but there are some available now on eBay for around $25 USD if you want to keep trying. It's really hard to say if it's worthwhile to you at this point since I'm seeing used Sense watches being sold there for $20 to $30 on the low end. Given that, it's hard to suggest that it makes economic sense to continue trying to fix the one you have, especially given that it didn't seem to power up with the first replacement screen you got.

Did it do anything with the original screen? Why did you replace it in the first place?

Genuinely don’t remember how I &&^&@@ the first one but I know after sending it in for a repair because the screen fell off and the screen falling off again, I glued it on and after it falling off again (this may have happened several times) it stopped working eventually.

I was still getting vibrational feedback from the device when trying to charge it (although my phone wasn’t able to sync to it) so I thought it might just be the LCD.

Didn’t pay too much for the replacement screen so I’m not gonna lose sleep over it. Or well- if I do, I won’t be able to track it because no Fitbit (#^.^#)

So I think I’ll call this one here and get myself something else! (Thats screen won’t fall off as much!)

Cheers for your thinking, mate! ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡
