Hi Wendy,

I would not buy a new router you can simply replace the switch. For more information and steps on how to do this please check out this Power Switch replacement guide (this guide is not yet published). However, if you would like to replace the power switch you can simply disassemble the device with a few screws hidden underneath the stickers of the device. Then follow the iFixit How To Solder and Desolder Connections.

@lpfaff1

That is because we are students and we are building these guides for the EA9200. Wendy is part of our Team, so she has access. Part of the iFixit Requirements for team projects is we must produce 3-4 questions then answer them from within the team.

From Milestone 2 Overview:

http://edu.ifixit.com/milestone-2-overvi...

"Posted and answered three questions about your device

Confirmed that the three support questions automatically appeared on your device page under the "Support Questions" section"

Hope this clears it up for you!

Wendy, the switch is probably replaceable, the problem will be finding one. If you are sure it is the switch and not a faulty power supply, open the router and remove switch and see if there is a part # on it then do a google search with that info., or take the switch with you to a small electronics supply shop and have them try to match it up.

You may even be able to disassemble switch carefully and clean contacts and get it working. Another option would be to join/secure the switch wires together to make device powered on and use a switched controlled power bar as the on/off for router.Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
