Hi, my name is Matthew Bauer. I am a student at University of Rhode Island.

Education

At the University of Rhode Island I am majoring in Environmental Science and Management. I chose to study Environmental Science because I am passionate about the outdoors and I would like to do everything I can to protect it. I am currently a Junior but I will be graduating in the fall of my Senior year.

Aspirations

After graduation I am looking forward to working for an environmental consulting firm. I am also interested in traveling across the country and visiting many of the beautiful National Parks.

Skills

I am well versed in many different computer programs and have taken a variety of different writing and communication classes.

Projects

For my Eagle Scout Project when I was in Boy Scouts I built and installed 10 bat boxes and wrote up a report about all of the work that I completed.

Repair Experience

I have very little repair experience but I have helped my dad with minor car repairs like plugging a flat tire and some other minor issues.

Accolades

I have been on Deans List for every semester that I have been at URI. This is something that I have used to motivate my hard work ethic while in college. I set my mind to it and I have been able to consistently perform well in all of my classes.

Groups

I am a part of the URI Sustainable Fishing Club where I attend meetings where we discuss our hobby of fishing and how we can be more sustainable as fishermen.

Hobbies

My number one hobby is fishing. I spend most of my free time fishing for all sorts of fish in all different places. I also have a number of other hobbies such as wildlife photography, hiking and backpacking.

How does this project relate to you?

This project relates to me because I think that it is an important skill to be able to communicate directions to all people effectively. For example I work in a lab and it is very important for directions to be clear and concise so that all of our tests are completed properly.
