Hey Chad, it’s not really a cloth but it’s actually a thin sheet of foam with an adhesive backing that’s been stuck to the battery like a sticker. I’m assuming it’s there for protection of the battery and the internal elements surrounding the battery (and I’m guessing it helps to shield it from touching anything that could cause problems electrically as well). ✌️
Mine will boot most of the time, but after a very short use the knobs stop working. Naturally I attempt to restart it but once I shut it off it won’t turn back on. I also noticed that after a 20 hour charge, within one day (1 day sitting with power OFF, not in use) the battery will be dead again. Not sure how the battery can die with the device turned off. I’ve replaced the battery, the connector board, checked all connections inside, even downgraded back to the firmware it shipped with (237 I believe?). Nothing has worked. Only thing left is the DSP board. FURIOUS that a $1200 device only lasted me a year before basically becoming a paper weight. I babied it too…got an expensive case and everything…UNBELIEVABLE.
Does this come with the screws to hold it in? Funny, I popped the cover off to take a look at my connector board and it only has 1 of the screws…2 empty screw holes staring back at me (and I did not buy used. This came directly from TE). Buying this with the blind hope that it will fix my OP-1. I will charge it for 15-20 hours and the next day when I go to turn it on, it’s dead already. I’ve replaced the battery, I’ve checked all internal connections, I’m at a complete loss and I’m hoping this is what the Dr. ordered.
