Not a fix but sometimes when your starter is going bad and you get no response when turning the key you can get it to work by tapping it with a hammer. If it clicks or turns over then u need a new starter. If nothing happens then more troubleshooting is needed. Have one person tap the side of the starter with a hammer. Don’t smash it just give it a few firm taps. Have another person try to start the car while it’s being tapped on. Like I said this isn’t a fix. It’s just a low tech way to troubleshoot your starter while it is still mounted to the engine. Also if it caught fire at some point or got hot and melted the wires then that means the starter got overheated from trying to crank for too long or it could be a sign of it straining when it’s going bad. Just be sure to check all the wires attached to the starter to make sure they’re still good and swap them out if not. Good luck.
Meer informatieThanks for the input but I have it working perfectly fine now. I know I’m answering my own question but It was a faulty charger port and I thought it might help someone else in the future so I decided to go ahead and post this. The new housing came with a charger port preinstalled and obviously it was defective. Up until last night I didn’t realize that there was an antenna built into it. I know the cellular antenna connects to it but I thought that was the whole antenna. That is definitely not the case unless the contact was bad because now this phone has full service and works exactly how it should after this repair. I figured the charger port, microphones, loud speaker contacts, Taptic Engine connection flex was my only other option at the time. Wow they crammed a lot of stuff in there! Am I missing anything??? So I transferred the original charger port into the new housing and……. BINGO IT WORKS!!!! I also want to add that this forum has helped me out every time I asked a question whether I got the...
Meer informatieI know I'm answering my own question but I had the guy return to try Sim trays that I had on hand. Here's my verdict after trying what I had. The iPhone 7 plus Sim tray definitely works in an iPhone 7. It doesn't quite sit flush with the outside but it is barely noticeable and will make do until you get the right part if you don't have it yet.

I myself have had this problem with a couple of iPhone XS Max’s. I’ve done many but those two had the exact same issue and I would love to know why. I hope someone answers this question. Good luck
