The first symptom of an expanding battery in a laptop is excessive heat build up on the keyboard and cooling fans constantly running. About two mos, ago I noticed the key board beginning to warp upward in the center, When closing the cover, it wont close flat. When running on the battery, the estimated time until recharge was not accurate and battery run time was reduced from the normal three hours to just under two hours.

Mijn oplossing

Repairing/replacing the battery is relatively easy and takes no more than an hour for even a novice. This repair is only about twenty minutes for an experienced technician. The biggest issue when replacing the battery on this model is to make sure the battery is flat and installed correctly. The cover should fit perfectly on with out any wobbling, bending or force. If it doesnt, then you do not have the battery in correctly.

It should also be noted, you can run a laptop without the battery on the charging cord, which comes in handy when waiting on the replacement.

My background is in electronics, specifically copiers/printers and computers. I stumbled on the Blade battery replacement guide when searching for a replacement battery and was impressed with the IFIXIT site. After some research on reviews of the services they provide, I chose to purchase the battery in spite of the fact that it was a bit more expensive than some other obscure sites that I couldnt find reviews on.
