This guide will assist you in the replacement of this component. Be mindful to not adversely snap any plastic components or small wires when applying pressure.

    • Microwave the iOpener for 30 seconds.

    • The iOpener can get very hot.

    • Wrap the iOpener around the sound card along the parting line and hold to help weaken the adhesive joining the halves.

    • Separate the two halves of the plastic shell of the sound card along the parting line.

    • Using a sharp tool to saw away stubborn adhesive may be necessary.

    • Use standard caution when using sharp tools! Never cut, stab, or wedge towards your body or fingers.

    • Desolder the audio jack.
