Background
The Sony M-430 Microcassette-corder records audio to microcassette tapes and plays back the recording.
Sony M-430 was introduced September 1999. It became popular because of its small size, reliability and good sound for its time. Also, compared to other micro cassette recorders, the price was cheaper.
Identification
‘M-430’ appears just above the speaker on the front cover and confirms that your device is indeed an M-430 Microcassette-corder.
Six recorders make up the M-series, all of which look very similar. To distinguish the device in front of you, you can use the REC/BATT light, located next to the REC button. Model M-430 has a BATT light which lights up any time the device operates in record or playback mode. All other M-series models have indicator lights that illuminate only during recording or clearly indicate the battery level with a series of lights.
