Keyboard backlight broken after fall

Hello,

sadly, the backpack containing my laptop fell down leading to some issues now. One of those is that the keyboard backlight is not working anymore.

It doesn't seem to be a software issue - on both my operating systems, the backlight worked fine until the fall. After, it worked somewhat, often flickering, especially with pressure on the broken parts of the case. It does not work at all currently.

Now, I tried finding documentation on where and how the backlight is located and connected, but I sadly wasn't able to find any, seeing as the keyboard is not part of the maintenance manual either. Is it integrated with the keyboard connection? The keyboard works without issue otherwise.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be quite grateful.

I have the same issue with a Lenovo Flex 14. Keyboard light would flicker as I typed, then eventually died. Can you tell me where the cable connection is so I can check it?

@kila25361 check the keyboard backlight connector on your motherboard as well as the flex cable for it. You mentioned "the broken parts of the case." let's see what is broken. Remove your bottom cover (sounds like you have the hardware maintenance manual that will help you with that), and take a few pictures of your motherboard, connectors and that damage. The actual backlight is integrated with the keyboard. Post those pictures with your Question so we can see what you see.Voeg afbeeldingen toe aan een bestaande vraag
