Sourcing a new display panel

Any suggestions on a quality source for a replacement display panel?

The fact is, very few laptop manufacturers design their own screens; virtually all of them buy an existing, off-the-shelf display, whether that is LCD or the newer OLED screens. So if you want a 100% original screen, your best bet is to find out who makes the original, along with its model number, and order that.

Every one I've seen has that information on a label on the back side of the LCD (I'm going to use LCD interchangeably even though it could be an OLED). So all you have to do is figure out how to open the display assembly to dismount the LCD and look for the manufacturer's label on the back side of it. Most laptops have a bezel on the front that you'll have to figure out how to remove; some are just clipped on, but others might have a couple of screws. Once the bezel is off, you'll find the LCD itself held in by either a few screws, or just adhesive, and removal is usually just taking out the screws or separating the adhesive then laying it down on the keyboard to see the label.

Once you have that information, a simple internet search should bring up sources of the part you need.
