My laptop abruptly crashes and restarts for some reason. Although it happens more frequently when I use it for resource intensive tasks, it also happens sometimes when I'm watching a movie or something.

@nathaniele63150 it is possible that you are overheating or that you are having power issues. We need to know if this happens on battery as well as on AC adapter. We will need to know the exact model number for your computer. The next thing you want to do is to check the Windows (I assume your are using Windows as your OS) Event viewer.
