Update (09/20/2020)

I've obviously indicated the wrong model number, these instructions don't match my machine, it's an 17 inch mid 2010, non removable battery, MacBook pro 6,1, intel core i7, 2.66 GHz. Serial # C2QF300CDDKO, could you please send a link to instructions to check the display cable on my machine. Thanks.

Update (09/20/2020)

The green appears when I open the screen back past about 90 degrees and goes when I almost close the screen.

Can you please try to explain further? I had quite a hard time trying to understand what is happening...

So if you have something on your screen that's supposed to be black it's instead a very bright green?

How about posting a few pics so we can see what you are seeing! Voeg afbeeldingen toe aan een bestaande vraag

That's right, I did find a posting on this problem from back in 2012/13. and when I connect to an external monitor the problem is not on the external, but is still on the MacBook screen. Why does my screen display black as green?

@mike1946 what happens when you attach an external monitor? Do you get the same appearances??

I would connect an external display to your system to see if the image is clean on it. If it is then you'll need to replace the display assembly MacBook Pro 17" Unibody Display Replacement
