The system of my computer is Windows 10. When I plugged in my USB hard drive it just doesn’t turn out and shows that "USB device not recognized". I have upgraded all the drivers. They are up to date but still not working. What can I do with it?

Hi, if you can find the USB device there in Disk Management, that means the device is still working but corrupted due to some technical reasons. Try shutting down Windows from the Start Menu.
When shut down unplug the computer for about 5 minutes.
Plug back in and turn on.
Now try plugging in the USB device and see if it is recognised.

Had you tried on another computer and another USB port?
You mentioned it is a USB hard drive. Do you have model no of it?
When you connect the drive to your computer, I presume it is a mechanical HDD, do you hear any weird sounds coming out from the hard drive? e.g. some tick tick or motor spin and stop abruptly?

It is just a common USB flash disk.I've changed the other USB port and I can find the weird sounds but the error remains. I only have one computer can be used at this stage.
no matter what... if data is important, if it can still be access, copy it out.
