Hi, I know this is a really late answer but it might help.
I was having the same problem of only hearing interference and not even hearing the “power-on” when pressing the power button, not only that but the sound from the AUX cable sounded sort of scratchy (almost when an AUX chord doesn’t work properly) when connected to my laptop. What I did was connect it to another device (in my case my phone) with the AUX cable and although at first it didn’t connect, after connecting it a few times, the headphones started working properly, both with the AUX cable and on Bluetooth.
To be honest I don’t know what might have been or why they fixed themselves but it worked for me, so it might work for you.
For more context, I tried using them on my gaming PC (which doesn’t have a mic and I can’t get any mic to work on it) but they didn’t really work, and they sounded scratchy there too. After that, the problem from above started.
TL; DR: I connected them to another device in which they worked fine before and they started to work again. (I had done the ‘+’ and ‘-’ reset a few times already.)

My Skull Candy Crusher are having a similar problem, since yesterday when I’m trying to connect to them, they start to sound like an “interference” sound, for some seconds, then high pitch sound stops and they’re apparently connected, but nothing sounds on them. The on and off sounds are not working, nor the volume sounds.
The “press both volume buttons” didn’t work, neither shutting them off and on again. I don’t think they’re broken, but it’s pretty weird this episode. One important note, the cable sound is working perfectly, so… it’s confusing, seems like something bluetooth related, but affecting all the headphones.
I’ll appreciate some help or advice too. I hope you find the especific solution to your problem.

Pressing both volume up and down worked for me.... side not the cable broke for me after 2 weeks rubbish..... shame as well when you’re paying £95+ for these headphones.

I am having the exact same problem. For about 3 months I used bluetooth on these headphones and they worked like a charm. Yesterday, I used the AUX cable to use my headphones with an old PC. Now, the headphones have stopped working. When I try to turn them on, I feel the spring vibrating and nothing else. Volume up+down troubleshooting also doesn't help.
It's very strange. Just the use of AUX cable can make the wireless headphones dead. AUX is still working. If anyone has a solution then kindly share. It'll be a great help
