The best option to do is to replace the headphones. It may take some time and under $10 for shipping but you will get a brand new box and pair of headphones. These headphones come with a limited time warranty and it’s great! I am on my third pair of them and love them. My brother also got a pair and they broke and he sent them in. If you get the fast shipping you can send it out Monday and get it back Friday. Here’s how to do it:
1.) Go to https://warranty.skullcandy.com/
2.) Select “Headphone”
3.) Select “Crusher Wireless” (Color doesn’t matter)
4.) Select your purchase month
5.) Select your purchase year
6.) Then name the place you purchased the product
7.) Describe what happened to the headphones, and make sure to include if you were using them under normal use.
8.) Insert your First name
9.) Insert your Last name
10.) Insert your primary email
11.) Re-insert the same email
12.) Insert your primary address in “Address line 1“
13.) Insert City
14.) Select State
15.) Insert zip code
16.) Insert your cell phone number
Now you will get an email from them that may take a bit to receive. After opening the email:
17.) Print a copy of the email (and the receipt for safe measures)
18.) Pack the email and receipt copies in a box with the headphones
19.) Send out the package to “ Skullcandy, Inc. 1505 Worldwide Blvd. Hebron, KY 41048 “ (Or the address that is sent in your email) through a trackable carrier
Now you should be set to have them send you a brand new unopened pair of Skullcandy Crusher Wireless headphones!
On a side note, they seem to have changed the design of the headphones a bit from the original design. The black pair is mine (the old ones) and the white pair is my brothers (the new ones)
- The metal band is now thinner
- There are now 4 screws above the cup which makes it look like it would be more repairable if parts were available for purchase
- The white headband feels like it’s slightly thicker but this might just be my eyes
- The white plastic housing on the top part of the metal band is now reinforced and thicker
I don’t know why they made these changes but hopefully it was for the better. So far the white ones are holding up and so are my older black ones. Besides those changes everything is the same from sound quality to battery life. Also as a disclaimer the white pair always had the canvas top vs the leather so that I didn’t include. Speculation for why they would change the design like that would be to make it more repairable and it’s now probably cheaper to manufacture because of the smaller headband, but that’s just my guess. If anyone has any questions I would be more than happy to answer them! I also noticed that there are no tare down videos so I will release a tare down video of the older pair on my YouTube channel if anyone is interested just search Skullcandy Crusher Wireless Tare Down and it should be there.
OMG, this happened to me yesterday too. Had them for 10 months without issue, then i take them out of my bag and bam....snapped!

Yeah, this is one of the two weak points of these headphones. The first one is that the sliders. if you use them too much, will get super loose. The second is the yoke for the crushers where the cups connect crack for no reason, within normal use. What I did when mine cracked there the first time is used the limited life time warranty; but I also sent them my only receipt hoping I would get it back but never did... I did get a brand new pair but now I can't get another pair on my new headphones that already cracked. Maybe you can cut out peices of metal and make your own yokes??? that would be soo cool considering how great these headphones are!!!

This happened to me after 8 months as well. Maybe if we get a significant number of complaints, Skullcandy is going to revise that weak spot. I have called the re-seller I bought them from (I live in Romania - nu skullcandy here) and they told me warranty does not cover it.
I'm planning on writing to Skullcandy support with a couple of testimonials, so we can deem this as factory fault, and have it included in the normal terms of warranty. If you guys are interested, drop me an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.

That's so odd? They replaced mine no problem, maybe it's different in Romania for some unknown reason. If you use your headphones normally they should have covered it. If you have any questions for me in your testimony thing I would be willing to answer.
