Fuel not getting to the engine

My 1999 Saturn SL1 stalled while I was driving a few times and each time I would have to wait while before it would start again then the day came it stalled then never started again.

I replaced the Electric Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, Electric Fuel Pump Relay, Battery and cleaned the Carburetor.

Still won't start, so a friend and I tried Starter Fluid Spray. It did a rough start and idle as long as he would spray then stall when he stop. It would not start on its own only with the spray.

So we're stuck. No Fuel Getting To Engine. Please help us.

Doing everything old school way, other then the internet.

leggs367 you said you "cleaned the Carburetor" the Saturn uses TBI and not a carb unless this was somehow converted. Have you checked the crankshaft position sensor ? Of course you did check the fuses.....ECTS are a common failure on this model. something to look into

Try checking the fuel pressure sensor as well. Mine done the same thing

leggs, Check to see if there are any trouble codes that may help in diagnosing no start condition. Was the correct fuel pump installed, was it a complete fuel pump assy. or just a pump and installed correctly? Is the new fuel pump coming on, have an assistant turn ignition to on position while you listen for pump humming at back of car with gas cap off. You should here fuel pump hum or buzz for 3 to 5 sec's as it builds pressure, check for correct pressure at the fuel rail 45-50 psi, if you do not hear pump, faulty fuse, relay, wire/plug/ ground corroded damaged, fuel pressure regulator(filter), bad pump, crank sensor, ECM,. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

1st , check if there is fuel on fuel line , I believe your car has injector(s), check for power and ground on the injector wires , one of those wire will be the control side which will flash as you crank the motor. might be a good idea to check your fuel injetion fuse and relay.

If everything else mentioned here fails, there is another potential problem: WATER. Now that fuel has higher ethanol percentage, it attracts water. Sometimes there is so much water in the tank that the fuel pump doesn't actually pick up any fuel, but only water. Obviously a car cannot run on water. Simple solution - drain the gas tank.
