Nexus 5X USB Parts
With the nexus 5X does anyone know if you can get parts for it anywhere?
I stupidly tried to plug a micro USB cable into the phone instead of the cable it came with.
I managed to strip the pins from inside the port and it now (understandably :) ) won't charge.
Looking at the various tear downs suggest that the USB port is fixed to the mother board so might not be replaceable without the whole motherboard - but I can't find any where that sells anything other than screens for these phones.
Anyone else got any ideas?
Is dit een goede vraag?
Update:
I found a company here in the UK that sells the USB-C port on its own (http://www.mytrendyphone.co.uk/shop/lg-n...) its £6.00 incl VAT, so I order one. When it came I used the teardown guide here on iFix It to strip the phone back to its motherboard and then remove the old broken port with the help of a soldering iron and some solder wick. Then I soldered the new port on the motherboard, it wasn't that hard if you've ever used a soldering iron before, you do need a fairly fine tip though as the pins on the back of the port are pretty small.
The phones been charging properly for the past week :).
