If you are running Kaspersky Internet Security check its' settings as it might be disabling Java by default.

Java is considered to be "unsafe" but if you do need it then update it via the Java applet (Update tab) found in Control Panel.

Alternatively uninstall it  (Control Panel > Programs and Features) and if you find that you do need it because of some programs you use or websites that you visit need it then  you can always download the latest version and re-install it.
