The cord could be part of the mess. Ive encountered this on a smaller level. In my case it was the memory was maxed. The other time it was 39 vireses and 2 trojans. In the last the pc was junk, the first was a hard start. Power off. Hold vol. -  and power on. Conferm prompts. Done. I hope this helps.
