Hi, I have the 366MHz Indigo iBook that came with a CD-ROM drive. When I got it I figured it had a Firewire port, so I could plug my FireWire DVD-R into it. Well, turns out I think the Firewire port doesn't seem to work with bus powered devices (a 2.5" HDD case and my mentioned DVD-R, both rely on the Firewire bus for power), but it did work with the iBook in Target Disk Mode connected to my desktop (powered by the iBooks power plug, not relying on bus power).
FireWire issue aside, does anyone have the model number for the DVD ROM that came with the SE iBooks, or know where I can get one, or any other information that may help me locate a compatible internal DVD drive for this (like other compatible drives that came with other computer)?
I've tried a spare slim DVD ROM drive I had around, but the eject buttons and screw slots don't line up to the iBook's bezel, so it must use a specific kind of drive. Looks like the exact one that came in the original iMacs.
Thank you!
