Perhaps you should find someone locally who is able to replace the headphone jack, or if you are able to use one of the disassemble guides on this site to do it yourself. This should solve the problem if it is indeed a faulty headphone jack.

Its not actually a fault, its so your phone doesn't start ending your call or changing things when its pressed up against your face, as this activates the touch screen similar to when your fingers move across the screen. If you remove it from your face and wait a few seconds at most it will switch the screen on again and you can end your call.

Its usually easier than you might think. If your wanting to use the website you are looking at then all you need to do is work out which model of laptop you have and perhaps which model of battery. For the model of your battery eject it from the laptop and look for the model number, it should be on the label of the battery if not, don't worry you might not need it. To find your model of laptop and your using a windows operating system, it will most likely be windows 7 or vista if so just type system into your "search programs and files" on the start menu it should look something like this: select system, which I have selected in the image. (screenshots remove the cursor) A window will appear and you will be able to see your make and model of your laptop. (highlighted by the green circle, in the image below) You should be able to use this to locate the required battery from the site that you are looking at.
