I just replaced the 3TB in an A1470 with a 10TB Hitachi HGST drive (He filled.) No trimming needed. Runs vibration-free, quiet, and very cool.

I just pulled my TimeCapsule 3TB out of storage after lots of frustrations with my AmpliFi Mesh system. The last few firmware upgrades are a disaster. The TimeCapsule speed is still amazing. I fired up a couple of Airport Express 2 and might be back to the old days of plug ‘n forget.

But it makes a bit of a sound. I think it its the3TB hard drive. But before pulling it apart, is there a fan in there that could be the problem?

Has anybody tried a larger WD NAS like 8TB or 12TB?
