First step would be to check that the screen cables are properly seated. Be careful here, because too much pressure can damage the connector on the logic board if it is not properly aligned. The connectors should click into place, and the EMI shield will keep them secured. If you have a good connection and the problem persists, you most likely have a bad part or a damaged cable. It is very easy to tear it when feeding it through the housing, so be sure that the wide, folded portion of the digitizer cable is completely through the slot before securing the screen. If it does not easily reach the connectors on the logic board, DO NOT PULL ON IT! Pulling on a pinched cable will almost certainly tear it, and you'll have to start all over with a new part.
Using a plastic spudger or pry tool, lift up the side panel near the pairing button. You might have to massage the button a bit as you do this, but it should re-align the plastic nib to the actual button inside the speaker.
Let me add that I do appreciate all of the efforts of those submitting these guides. You all have saved me countless dollars in unnecessary part replacement and collateral damage to cables and the like during disassembly. Because of you nice people, I am able to readily spot poor workmanship from other shops and provide my customers with the best possible service. Kudos!
I've noticed that nearly every "repair" guide on this site contains the same lie at the end: "Installation is the reverse of removal." This lie is never more apparent when you are replacing a flex cable with several bends and folds. Is there some reason everyone stops taking pictures once the bad part is removed from the device? I assume you had to actually install the new part, so some pictures of the installation process, especially with flex cables, would be appreciated.
