Hello! My name is Jaclyn Whalen. I am a junior at the University of Rhode Island, majoring in marketing. I chose this major because I loved the idea of blending creativity and strategic thinking, along with the fact that the career path is so versatile.

When I graduate, I hope to work a job in the professional sports world, preferably the National Football League. My interest in the sports world started in my childhood as my father has worked in the professional sports world since before I was born. I have always loved watching sports in person and on television and even participating in them myself.

Projects/Accomplishments:

A few summers ago, I helped my brother build and paint hexagon-shaped shelves to hang up on my wall. The project took us about two weeks, and my brother taught me important skills like: how to measure, cut, sand, and to pre-drill holes to have the screws fit without breaking the wood. It was my first time building anything, and even though I did not complete this challenge alone, I am still very proud of my accomplishment.

Repair Experience:

Although my experience with repairs is minimal, one thing I have fixed is patching holes in the wall before moving out or before repainting a room. Something I would like to learn how to fix is something involving home renovation, as I feel like that is a key repair aspect and extremely beneficial to know as an adult.
