Keira Kolostyak

Introduction

Hi there! My name is Keira Kolostyak! I am a second-year student studying civil engineering/environmental resources engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

School

Prior to studying engineering, I studied Architecture for a year and a half at Wentworth Institute of Technology. I discovered that I wanted to pursue a different career path, and made the decision to switch to civil engineering.

Future Goals

I have contemplated various types of work I would like to focus on in the future. However, a vision of mine has always been to design/build sustainable structures to contribute to the future of eco-friendly technology. I believe that my acquired skills in architecture and civil/environmental engineering can overlap to create great projects.

Accomplishments

While I haven't accomplished any projects specifically related to engineering, I helped acquire three art pieces for the RISD Museum's collection when I was a senior in high school. These works were on public display at the museum in 2022.

Hobbies

When I'm not invested in school work, I enjoy spending my free time painting, stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, listening to music, analyzing movies, and crocheting!
