Hi Dan and imac Einstein After pressing T button after startup, the thunderbolt icons drifts on screen. My inquiry: (1)is GPU the only problem? (2)Replacing is the only solution? (3)Is there any way to know how many hours the GPU has been in service after manufacture? (4) why GPU cannot be fixed by parts replacement? (5) during safe mode, why the mac looks normal without auto restart? (6) can upgrading to more advanced ios such as Monterey, or downgrade to lower ios , solve this auto reboot issue? (7) if i buy a new gpu, is it better to buy 1G instead of 2G to reduce attrition and extend service lifespan years?

Hi Dan, I fixed it. After purchasing the original logic board connector from taobao, I realise that a quick fix is to remove the front cover, and erect the 6 pins upright 90 degree to the floor. The board connector & cable connector at J9001 eventually fits to each other firmly. My solder skill too poor. I am too poor to buy a professional hot wind gun. The above solution is quite happy to me. Thanks Dan. I posted my previous wrong thoughts and my final outcome. Just use a mini 1-shape screwdriver to erect the pins...fixed it...the pins were tilted to screen side (as opposed to electric power back side ) due to screen drop onto desktop.
