Check the RAM slots in this computer. The computer behaves like this when there are NO memory slots installed. Just as well it might behave this way if the RAM is of an incorrect type or if you have two sticks of different types. 2G and 4G for example, but keep in mind that if you have sticks with identical size but different speeds, this can also be incorrect. If the ram is identical one may be damaged, try one of the sticks at a time or try a different stick altogether.

The trick you used in the beginning was a bios HARD reset and is used when your BIOS is in an unfix-able and unchangeable state. This works find but if your BIOS was having issues before you may have only treated the symptoms. What is your TV's model number? It sounds like your main board is damaged and your might need a replacement. Sometimes however this could be an issue with heat dispersion. I have seen a few TV's that do not work as you have described because the chips on the main board get too hot. Does the flickering image on the screen also affect the TV's internal functions like the menu screen or volume indicator? Usually if the issue affects the internal functions you could also have an issue with the Timing Controller Board, if not its most likely the main board.

If you can not see the battery exists in your operating system: Take your battery out and look at it to make sure it is not swelling or bulging. Sometimes if the battery is bad you can still see that the battery exists and charge it but its dependent on whether or not the charging circuits inside the battery are damaged or not. Sometimes swelling can cause the circuits to break and this prevents the computer from recognizing the battery exists. What is the model of your TV? This could be a couple of issues but from the sound of it your TV's main board might be bad. However this could also be some issue with your back lighting, its hard to tell from your description. Try to find out these things: When you press buttons on your TV does anything on the screen change? Is there any flickering on the TV screen? Turn all the lights off in your house and see if there is any light coming from the dark area's of the TV. I have a similar issue, however i have installed Ubuntu to the Hard Drive successfully and still booting from the main HD in bay 1 (I know you cannot boot from bay 2) still has the "Operating System not found..." Error after posting. I have done a reflow on the GPU which has been one of many DV9000's i have also reflow'ed, my success rate on those so far has been 10/10. I think this MAY be an issue with the bios? Grub usually flawless, im thinking that the bios is not looking for the boot sector correctly.
