The same problem seems to be happening to my Ipod and I don't know if I can fix it and recover the data or not. I understand from pellis1309 that changing the battery had not worked so wonder if this is some kind of fault that Ipod 2nd Gen has. I have tried charging the ipod on a wall charger and on USB but nothing happens. Occasionally when I try to restart the device the same battery sign comes up with a red line on the left and a lighting bolt underneath it. Please advise. Many thanks. A
