Hi eugeme, Ipad back cover is very delicate, once it gets scratched you will never be able to restore it the way it was. You can get the back cover for a reasonable price and replace it yourself following guides on this site. In case you dont want to do that, i have tryed a bunch of things to try to make the aluminium look as neat as it was before. Te best thing i found is the aluminium cleaner (the guy from the hardware store told me it was a cleaner) and it worked really good. It looks like an ugly soap bar of brown color. At first i thought it was too rude, so i decided to give it a try "cleaning" my bath room or shower aluminium sliding doors. Thath thing did magic on it. Contrary to what i thought, the "cleaner bar" started to wear away leaving the aluminium clean and smooth. (but digitizer still works fine) If that is the case, (glass broken and digitizer works) you can solve your problem very cheap (and i mean it). But... IT IS A @$*! OF A JOB (and i mean it). Let me tell you: a couple of years ago, customers stop by my shop, almost crying holding an iphone 2g (brand new then) with broken glass. Back then it was impossible to get the spare part, and when it became available, it was very expensive. (and still is) Looking for a solution, i found this on the WEB: "original iphone 2 g cristal glass for only 2 USD" i could almost see a ray of light and hear heavenly music. So i ordered 10 pieces, as soon as i got them, y realize 2things, 1st.- they looked like original, very thin and resistant. 2nd.- I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO DO THE JOB !!! Here is what i would do.... Follow the guide and take the headphone jack out. On the opposite side it has a cover like a piece of tape kind of thick. You dont have to break it or remove it, just find the way to stick in a niddle or paper clip strong enough to push the stone out. I did that once to remove a plug that broke inside the headphone jack. Hope that helps :)

Hi, not necessarily. The glue will do its job well if it is the first time you remove it. If needed, rub a drop of alcohol, that helps a little. Jus don't use more than a single drop or you will end removing the glue. You can use also a drop of UHU glue or hot silicon glue by ONE edge. Do not exagerate. Remenber that the battery is also held by the two screws next to the battery's connection. So don't worry much about it.

Hi, what i do, is hold it with my left hand placing the ipod on the palm of my hand, and hold the touch with index and thumb placing the edge of the touch like an open door, that gives you room to stick your right hand index finger to press the connector. It is not an impossible task. I hope that helps. :)

Hi mark, It is a bummer uh? Ok ... By experience i can tell you two things, either your iphone will not come back to life, or your iphone's battery is screwed. Note: some iphones come back just by separating the mother board from the batery for lets say, a minute and after get it all together again plug it in to the charger. Try this first. My advice if that doesn't work... Before you buy anything, borrow a very good friend's iphone and take both apart. Replace your iphone's battery and plug it in to your original charger. Do not cry either if you see the apple on screen or not LOL :). If it comes on again, buy a new battery. If not.... The only other part to replace and test is the charge dock assembly, it is located at the bottom of the iphone, includes the speaker, mic and antena. If that fixes the problem, you may not have to replace the battery. one thing i would do if the battery is dead, is try to give it a full charge in the other iphone before trowing it away.

Let me get this clear... 1- you have no speaker working. 2- proximity sensor not working 3- usb works and charge works but really slow Right? Ok.... First i would do a full restore, that helps to solve SOFTWARE issues. (back up your data first if needed) I have solved the slow charge problem by restoring software only. But not always. If that doesn't fix it, replace the dock connector, if you have no experience using soldering gun, get the complete part that includes speaker, mic and antena. Otherwise you will get in more trouble. Replace proximity sensor. I have fixed those, but just for fun, if you like to have fun messing with removing very small components and if you have at least 3 "ribbon cable" as you call it. You can try it, have fun. Be sure your speaker is in place and " intact", if you took it out of the plastic box that helds it, you probbably messed it up. Replace it. If you did not messed up with the speaker, just make sure is in place and clean any grease or dust on the ribbon cable...

A common problem with ipod touch HOME button is the metal clicker located underneath the plastic button it self, it is held in place by a piece of tape. If your HOME button is "pushed IN" or stuck and you can't feel it "click", probabbly you will have to replace it. One thing you have to do also is to check if your ipod touch is really working well (except the button). Once you remove the touch glass, touch the two golden-bright metal plates located on the lower part of the circuit board, using a paper clip or small players. If that works, then you have to fix the button, but if thath "doesn't" work THEN YOU HAVE A BIG PROBLEM with the ipod touch mother board. Note: be CAREFULL removing the touch glass, there's a flex cable located on the upper left corner, remove the glass very slow and free the connector first before pulling out the glass out completely.
