if you have a mac, plug it in and go to disk utility. select format, and write zeros over the drive. this will force the arm to un jam and write zeros to the damaged sectors. this will leave you with around 100 mb less space, but youll have a fully working ipod. after this is done, restore with itunes.

try VERY light heatgunning on flex cable so it will have a better connection to logic board.

you could also try to clean between resistors and parts with a thin pry tool to help prevent shorths also.
