I am currently a student at Grand Valley State University. I am pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Writing, and a Bachelors of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I chose these majors because I want to create innovative ways to communicate information within the Event and Meeting Planning field. I aspire to one day work at the Walt Disney Co. , specifically at Walt Disney World within Disney Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons. I hope to work there as an executive in a professional writing position. I have over 6 years in customer service experience working in cosmetology, grocery, and peer tutoring services. I have created many visual resumes, personas, info-graphics, and other visual communicators that have been effective. I have fixed my own cosmetology tools from hair brushes to hair dryers when I was under pressure to get a job done. This was especially true at New York Fashion Week, when we had 5 minuets to get an entire look ready on a model, if something broke, you needed to fix it fast! I have received many academic awards for GPA, as well as leadership awards for different organizations I have been apart of. I am Vice President of the French Club here at Grand Valley State University, where I deal with risk-management and organization of various events. In my spare time I am studying the guitar, and write lyrics, poems, and creative non-fiction. I believe this project will strengthen my professional, technical writing skills and further my group-work skills, which I can apply to my Hospitality degree. Three fun facts about me are, I auditioned for the Disney Channel when I was thirteen, I was born in Brazil, and I can rap “No-Diggity” in it’s entirety.
