My GPS did not work after I replaced a cracked screen with screen assembly bought from Amazon. I followed all the write ups for suggested solutions. I was confused for a while by reading Rick Jones posting since my back cover had no mesh. So I ignored it assuming that some LG-5s may have slight variations in the design. What worked for me was the description from Shlomsi and Justin except I did not add any tapes. When I compared the contact (location 3 in red as shown in Justin's posting) with the contact on my old screen it was sitting much lower and below the level of the rubber pieces, which I guessed was not allowing it to make the connection to the back cover when assembled. If you look under a magnifying glass you will find it to be a tiny cantilever spring like contact. So I very gently bent it up to where it was above the level of the rubber pieces. Now the GPS works fine. Thanks to all for descriptions and specially to those who posted the pictures. It helps a lot to follow the different attempts....
Meer informatieEdigitcom Thanks for your response with pictures. It showed me that I had missed transferring the ear piece casing from the old screen to the new screen. Now I can hear the other party during a call without turning on the speaker phone. I had followed a number of YouTube videos, but none of them showed the ear piece casing. I guess there are variations of the LG-5 phones. Incidentally, I also had to transfer two pieces of rubber spacers from either side of the ear piece speaker from the old screen to the new screen to make the camera flash light and the proximity sensor work. Without that I was getting the phone screen to go blank during a call. I hope you can help me with another issue that I came across when I first opened the phone to replace the broken screen. I found a black U-shaped piece made of hard plastic lying loose inside the case. I cannot for the life of me find out where it comes from. Hopefully, you can help me identify it and its location. I am attaching a picture Thanks for your help
Meer informatieUpdate (10/28/2019): Michelle This piece comes from where the two screws hold the back plate to the screen assembly. If you look at the right hand bottom of the back plate when it is on the table inside facing up, you will see a small casting on the bottom right hand corner. This piece straddles that casting with its hole in the direction from where the attaching screw is inserted. Hope this helps. === ===

You explain everything well except you did not mention that the camera lens also need to be swapped to the new screen, similar to the ear piece
