Same issue. I agree with other solutions BUT….make sure you have the cover in the all the way open when you force it back on. I just about gave up until after one side was in I tried opening it all the way and it slipped right in. Also a tiny bit of WD 40 helps. Wayne Kordek
No way I could get this back on. About to bring it to Dyson Service Center. Tried one last time. GOT IT!! Trick is to make sure cover is COMPLETELY open.
