3 hours later my fan overheating light no longer flashes. But, my hard drive no longer functions and my reset button no longer functions. And don’t believe ifixit when they say the flexible extension for the driver works in getting those screws at the bottom out. I had to drive to the hardware store to get a fixed screwdriver that was long enough. Shame on ifixit for recommending a kit that wasn’t up to the task.

Unless you have practice at this kind of thing or better tools than what ifixit recommends (and that I bought) I wouldn’t recommend trying this repair. It took me three hours start to finish. Granted, that included a trip to the hardware store as well thanks to ifixit’s insufficient tool kit.

Where is the mention of the difficulty in removing and replacing the reset button connection? Mine got ruined in the process. I was also unable to reattach one of the connections for the hard drive so it no longer functions. I would not recommend this repair unless you are experienced or are willing to lose functionality.
