Although i havent worked on Huawei phones before, as a general rule issues where a screen works for a while and then stops means the circuit in the lcd itself is bad and it needs a new screen. I cant guarantee this is the issue, but hopefully this helps you get a little closer to a solution. Update (06/03/2018): Apologies. I read that wrong. I thought you said lcd. If u tried cleaning the connection off then you probably need a new digitizer unfortunately
I have been fixing ds lites recently, and one of the ds systems i got had a similar problem. Sometimes the screens lit up, sometimes they did not. When i swapped out the main board, the same thing happened. My guess is that fixing the top screen may solve your problem, but i cant be 100% sure. But I dont think the mainboard is the issue. Sorry if i wasnt much of a help, i just figured id try.
This is typically caused by one of the screen cables not being completely connected. If one of the screens is not connected, the ds wont boot up, which is why you dont hear anything either
