For some reason, people think that Apple computers use different parts than PCs do, but they don't (for the most part). Any sata 2.5 hard drive will work in that macbook. To make sure you pick out the right RAM, click on the Apple in the upper right corner and select about my mac. It will say 1GB (or however much you have) DDR2 667 or DDR2 533. My assumption, based on when you bought the machine, is that your computer has DDR2 667 but DOUBLE CHECK. Below is the NewEgg page for laptop DDR2 RAM. Just for safety reasons, you should disconnect the battery. It won't hurt the computer or your settings, and you won't run the risk of shorting something out.
