Hi there I replaced the whole screen including cables I am now able to use it with an external monitor... someone has suggested it may be a fuse that has gone... there seem to be a lot of reasons why this has happened and no clear answer! I changed the display if by that you mean the screen but that didn't work same still happened...dark screen with browser in the background... not very good at these things as you can tell!!!

Does it need to be the airport and the inverter cable... Can possibly get the inverter cable on ebay not sure about the airport cable... Apple store said they could repair for £100 is that a fair amount to pay or should I risk getting the cable and getting a friend to do with the step by step instructions..Thanks Ruth
