Camera is not opening

it is possible that this is caused by a software conflict with another app, corrupted app data or a loose internal connection. a bad camera module is possible as well.

First check to see if the app has been allowed to run in your system settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel. Check to see if the master camera access toggle has been turned off. Next go to your device settings and search for the Camera app. If the enable option is available then click on it to enable the app. While in the Camera app’s settings clear its storage and cache.

If the camera still does not work, try to reboot the phone into Safe Mode. Hold down the power button until the screen goes blank, then press and hold the power off button on the screen until the phone reboots into Safe Mode. If the camera works in Safe Mode, then most likely some third party app is causing problems with the camera. You will have to uninstall those Apps..

If none of this works, then most likely the issue will be with the camera module (yes, an issue with the main board is always possible but not likely).

Since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for this use something like this video Once you have it opened, check the connections from the camera to the board and if it properly connected, consider replacing the camera. The video will at least get you into the phone to replace the module. Of course you can also use the Motorola Moto One XT2073 SM to work on your phone.

While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit.
