The Turtle Beach Stealth Pro is a wireless gaming headset, released by Turtle Beach in 2022.

My microphone stopped working

The issue is the microphone stops working. Prior to it stopping, it would work at half-mast. It is a design flaw. Apparently, the wires that connect to the microphone come loose. It is caused by moving the microphone boom up and down. I can't find anything on how to break it down to access the wiring. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi!

I looked around a little and could not find a disassembly guide for the microphone for this model. Based on what I could see the microphone looks like it is molded in place, which would make it almost impossible to open without permanently damage the microphone.

Otherwise, the general rule would be to look for any seems and try to jam something into those seams.

In the image bellow I've marked the two seams I could see, if the microphone is damaged anyway (and you cannot RMA the microphone) you could always try breaking open those seams to see if it is doable without totally mangling the microphone (and upload some pictures of it here or in a guide)

I can also include this link to an exhaustive list of troubleshooting steps for general Turtle Beach headphones that could be tried before breaking the microphone.

Good luck,

Cheers

I see, well then here comes some more info.

In general, taking apart a headset is quite easy.

  • You take off the earpad, which typically exposes screws some screws.
  • And undoing those screws gives you access to the internals of the headset.
  • In your left earcup you will have a battery, so be a little careful.
  • Also note, the Stealth earcups are on top of being screwed, they're also glued. The screws should be sufficed to keep everything together once you're done.

Looking around, I only found this Teardown of the right side (but the process is the same for either cup):

However, for some clearer instructions I would look at the first 6 steps in this guide for a similar headset with the same earpad snapping mechanism. Note, do not do step 7 and forward as that does not apply to your issue.

If you prefer video instructions, you could check out this video guide on Youtube, however their headset does not have the snapping earpads as your headset will.

Good luck,

I truly appreciate your response. The problem is actually not the microphone itself. It is the base of the headphone. Where the microphone meets the base itself, apparently moving the microphone up and down causes the internal wires to become disconnected. The microphone itself has been replaced with a new one. Thank you for taking the time to answer.
