Have you checked if the engine is leaking oil (oil puddle on ground under engine when parked or oil stains on engine block) or burning oil (blue/grey smoke coming from exhaust pipe when engine running)?
What is the size and type of engine e.g. 2.0L, 2.4L, 2.0L diesel?
